Large Brown Carved Buri Mala
Kukui is the state tree of Hawaii, where the nuts (also called candlenuts) were used as prayer beads (and candles), and today are often used for leis and lucky bracelets.
The beads are hand knotted onto two strands of a 10 lb light brown hemp cord that matches the interior color of the buri beads. The tassel is handmade from the same hemp cord and finished with a darker bamboo cord to match the color of the kukui guru bead.
Because this mala is crafted from 10mm beads, it is a particularly large mala (it hangs 25" long; strand length is about 52"). While seeds are light enough to be worn around the wrist, this is not necessarily a mala designed for travel. The seeds are strong and have a smooth, warm feel that will bring a wonderful energy to your special meditation space.
Your mala will be shipped in an eco-friendly burlap bag and protected in the shipping box by recyclable packing material.
