Nangka Wood Mala

Nangka Wood Mala

Regular price $40.00
Nangka is a beautiful wood with a unique yellow tone. Also known as Jackfruit, nangka trees are cultivated throughout Southeast Asia for their fruit and wood. Nangka wood has traditionally been used to make musical instruments, and Buddhist monks in the region have used the richly colored heartwood to dye their robes.

The color of nangka wood can vary from a cheery soft yellow to a rich golden. This nangka mala features light yellow 10mm beads with golden nangka spacers. The rounded nugget shape of the hand-cut spacers give the mala extra tactile interest. The guru bead is also darker nangka wood cut into a cube.

This durable nagnka mala is strung on premium 49 strand nylon-coated steel beading wire and finished with a crimped yellow hemp tassel.
